Sometimes, you may want someone else to take over managing a Medical Profile—like when a new family member steps in or a child becomes an adult and needs to be the main point of contact. Transferring a profile means you’re handing over ownership and giving them full control to manage, update, and share it. You can still request to stay involved as a Collaborator, but the new owner will decide whether to approve that.
Once you send the transfer request, the recipient will be notified and can either accept or decline. If they decline, nothing changes—you remain the owner. If they accept, the profile becomes theirs to manage.
- On your mobile device or computer, open a browser and sign in to Primary Record.
- Click Profiles, then select the Medical Profile you want to transfer.
- Scroll to the Access section and find Collaborators.
- Click More, then choose Transfer the Organizer Role.
- If the new organizer is already listed as a collaborator:
– Toggle the red dot to green next to their name.
– Select their name from the list. - If the new organizer is not yet listed:
– Enter their email in the New Organizer field.
- If the new organizer is already listed as a collaborator:
- Add a quick message to let them know why you’re transferring the profile.
- If you want to remain a collaborator, check the box “I’d like to maintain access.”
- Click Save to send the transfer request.
They’ll receive an email with the option to accept or decline the transfer. Once accepted, the profile will no longer appear under Profiles You Manage.
