Why does a family need a Primary Record?

Better care starts with knowing the full story. But today’s healthcare system doesn’t make it easy, often requiring families manage multiple patient portals and maintain written records to fill in gaps. With one secure place to organize, collaborate and share this information, Primary Record makes it easier for families to access their health information when needed most.

Who is eligible to use Primary Record?

Primary Record is available to anyone looking for a solution to better manage health information for their family or themselves. It is particularly helpful for those who often have to share a complex medical story over and over.

Using Primary Record

How do I get started with Primary Record?

Getting started is easy. You will simply need to register, choose a plan based on the number of people’s health story you will be managing, then create a Medical Profile for each. You will be the Organizer of all Medical Profiles within this account.

What is a Medical Profile?

A Medical Profile is made for one individual and holds all the health information for that person. To build a Medical Profile, search from over 7,000 patient portals to connect and download the data in minutes, create file Folders for images, PDFs, or audio recordings that can then be quickly summarized and searched. Most importantly, Collaborators can be invited to help keep a Medical Profile updated!

How can I share a Medical Profile with someone else?

Organizers are able to invite an unlimited number of people to become ‘Collaborators’ of individual Medical Profiles. The Organizer determines what access a Collaborator has, which can be different by person. The Collaborators will receive an email invite with a unique link. After visiting the link and registering, Collaborators will see the Medical Profile shared under “Profiles Shared with Me.” There is currently no fee for Collaborators to register.

Is Primary Record only for the chronically ill?

Primary Record is for anyone, whether they are managing an illness, someone else’s health story or just staying organized.

Do I need to sign a HIPAA form to accept an invitation to Primary Record?

No, you do not. Medical data collected and organized by an individual or individual’s legal guardian, advocate, or family caregiver is subject to different privacy laws. While most people are familiar with HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act), HIPAA protections apply only when providers share medical data with each other, not in the scenario of when data is shared by the individual or family member.

Is Primary Record secure?

Yes.  We at Primary Record take security and privacy very seriously.  Primary Record abides by the FTC (Federal Trade Commission) law and stays on top of applicable state and federal laws as well as industry-wide best practices related to IT security and data privacy.

Can I find Primary Record in the Apple or Google Play store?

At this time, Primary Record is available on any computer or mobile phone browser by visiting https://www.primaryrecord.app. Primary Record is not available in the Apple App or Google Play stores.

Pricing & Subscription

Can I transfer a subscription?

No, but you can transfer the ownership of a Medical Profile if you are the Organizer.

Is Primary Record an expense that qualifies for FSA or HSA?

No, Primary Record is not currently eligible for FSA (Flexible Spending Account) nor HSA (Health Savings Account) funds. We are exploring this opportunity!

How much will Primary Record cost to use?

Primary Record offers a month-to-month or a discounted yearly subscription for both Premium Individual and Premium Family Plans. A Premium Individual Plan is $9 per month and a Premium Family Plan is $16 per month.

What happens to my medical information if I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions give access to premium services within the Primary Record application to help families manage the growing amount of medical data they have access to today. When a subscription is turned off, all medical profiles will continue to be accessible with the health information, documents, and notes that have been organized and shared. You can always maintain a Primary Record manually with new information or simply turn on your subscription to reconnect with patient portals to easily update new health information.
