Jessie Hillock is the owner and founder of The Memory Compass. Currently the only private practice in Indiana with a specific focus on providing Dementia & Memory Loss Navigation Consultations and support services for family members and care partners of a loved one living with memory loss and cognitive challenges as well as individuals living with the disease.
Jessie is a dementia care specialist and certified dementia practitioner with a master’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders. She has 9 years of experience as a speech-language pathologist with an area of specialty in providing therapy services for individuals living with Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI), dementia, Alzheimer’s Disease, Lewy Body Dementia, Vascular Dementia, Frontotemporal Dementia, Primary Progressive Aphasia, Parkinson’s Disease, and normal aging.
Prior to starting her private practice, Jessie spent 6 years of her career working in skilled nursing facilities (SNF), Independent Living Facilities (ILF), Assisted Living Facilities (ALF), Memory Care, and Long Term Care (LTC). She has worked in the role of Dementia Care Specialist after adapting and implementing a facility-wide dementia staging program within a local skilled nursing facility. Through this position, she provided ongoing education and training to facility staff, and extensive education to patients and their families.
